In an effort to bring more components in-house, Apple Inc. plans to start utilizing its own bespoke displays in its mobile devices starting in 2024, according to Bloomberg News, which cited people with knowledge of the matter.

By the end of next year, the business wants to start by replacing the displays in the most expensive Apple Watches. According to the story, Apple intends to eventually add these displays to a variety of devices, including the iPhone.

The Cupertino, California-based tech giant wants to rely less on companies like LG Corp. and Samsung Electronics.

A Reuters request for comment was not immediately answered by the company, and neither did that of LG Display nor Samsung Display, a division of Samsung Electronics.

According to a Monday report from Bloomberg News, Apple intends to switch in-house-designed semiconductors for Broadcom Inc. chips in 2025.
