Apple moves to USB-C charging after EU legislation.

Apple is preparing to adopt a USB-C charging port for AirPod and Mac accessories by 2024. After the EU policy for global USB-C charging ports, the company had to make the switch.

According to Bloomberg may make changes to the next generation of AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods, which will include Mac accessories like Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad.

Bloomberg reporter Mark Gorman thinks next year’s launch of the new iMacs and Mac Pros will coincide with accessory upgrades with new USB-C charging.

Earlier this year, Gurman reported that already started testing USB-C charging on its iPhones, but that it wouldn’t launch until 2023.

EU law will require tech companies to transition to USB-C by 2025, but Gorman thinks Apple will beat the deadline and work on creating new charging ports for devices soon.
