The Neuralink event will now take place on November 30th.
Billionaire Elon Musk said in a tweet on Sunday that he has postponed Neuralink’s “show & tell” event by a month to November 30 and did not provide further information.
The CEO of electric car maker Tesla Inc and rocket developer SpaceX said in August that the event would take place on October 31.
Founded by Musk in 2016, San Francisco-based company aims to implant wireless computer chips in the brain to help treat neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and spinal cord injury and to integrate humanity with artificial intelligence.
Musk said in a 2019 report that Neuralink aims to gain regulatory approval for human microchip implant trials by the end of 2020, the company has yet to obtain that approval or bring a product to market.
Musk contacted brain-chip developer Synchron Inc about a potential investment after expressing frustration with Neuralink employees over their slow progress in obtaining regulatory clearance for his devices.
