Elon Musk claims that Twitter Basic Blue will cut advertising by half

Elon Musk intends to eliminate all ads for Twitter’s premium tiers next year and cut the number of ads for Twitter’s Basic by half.

Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, tweeted on Monday that the social media company will provide a higher tier without commercials by next year and that Twitter’s Basic blue tick will have half as many advertisements.

Musk did not go into additional detail about the specifics.

After declaring last week that accounts for businesses and governments will display gold and grey check marks instead of blue ones, the firm turned back on the Twitter Blue indication earlier in the day.

For the web and Apple devices, the monthly subscription fee will be $8 and $11, respectively.
