Instagram users reported about 7,000 incidents, while Facebook users reported over 11,000 incidents.
The majority of users of Facebook and Instagram on Meta Platforms Inc.’s platform are back online after a brief outage, the firm said on Wednesday. It also added that a technical problem that affected thousands of users has been fixed.

According to the outage monitoring website Downdetector.com, users of Facebook and Instagram reported more than 11,000 instances and 7,000 cases, respectively, during the height of the outage.
By combining status information from many sources, including user-submitted problems on its platform, Downdetector keeps track of outages.
As of 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time, there were only 11 incidences of outages for Instagram and 81 cases for FB (0130 GMT).
Messenger, Facebook’s online chat platform, has received complaints from users.
