Samsung and Nokia agree on a new 5G patent agreement

Nokia and Samsung agreed in a contract renewal that it will pay Nokia for 5G services.

OSLO: On Monday, Nokia said that it had renewed its cross-license patent arrangement with Samsung, which had been set to expire at the end of 2022.

The deal, which includes Nokia’s basic discoveries in 5G and other technologies, states that it will pay Nokia over a number of years commencing on January 1, 2023.

The agreement’s specifics will continue to be kept private, it noted.

According to Nokia, the arrangement is consistent with its prior statement of its long-term perspective.
