TikTok is Reportedly giving up its Shopping Live Streams in the US and Europe due to Poor response
Video sharing platform TikTok has reportedly halted plans to introduce “On Trend”, its direct shopping feature, in the US and Europe.
Over the past few months, TikTok has been testing the feature in the UK which included the idea of buying via Livestream for popular brands. This was the first time the company had rolled out the idea outside of Asia.
However, the idea failed to gain good momentum. According to a report in the Financial Times, the initiative did not get enough viewership or sales and some of the creators involved in early TikTok Shop projects have pulled out entirely.
As a result, the company abandoned its plan to launch in the United States and Europe. He is currently trying to focus on the UK.
According to The Verge, the concept of streaming shopping, led by influencers and celebrities, is very popular in the Asian market. It’s a huge deal for TikTok owner ByteDance.
While the app has gained a lot of popularity, the company is constantly testing the shopping feature to attract more audiences.
